Thane (Maharashtra), Dec 28 (IANS) A Republican Party of India (RPI) leader was killed early Friday after a spat in Bhayander town of Thane district, police said.

‘Dilip Ingale was the youth wing president of RPI. He reportedly got involved in a nasty spat with three people, who are said to have killed him,’ an official from Navghar police station told IANS.

‘We are investigating the matter further. Prima facie, he seemed to have been attacked with a weapon, but we will get a clear picture after we get the post-mortem examination report,’ he added.

RPI officials, when contacted, said they are waiting for police investigation to know the cause behind the killing.
