New Delhi, April 8 (Inditop) The heat of early summer was replaced by showers and a cool breeze in the capital Wednesday morning.

The rest of the day is expected to be cloudy too, with a few showers accompanied by hailstorms.

“The reason for such untimely weather is a low pressure belt over Rajasthan. Western disturbances are active, due to which rain and thunderstorms are likely in the capital region,” an official at the India Meteorological Department told IANS.

Till 10.00 a.m., Delhi received 4.7 mm of rain and the wind velocity was recorded at 10 to 12 knots.

The official said the sky was likely to be cloudy throughout the day. Thundershowers and rain along with hailstorms in two or three places were likely as well.

The minimum temperature is likely to hover around 22 degree Celsius while the maximum is estimated to be around 32 degrees Celsius.
