Panaji, May 30 (IANS) Sri Lanka is keen on reviving links with Indian states, particularly Goa, Colombo’s ambassador Prasad Kariyawasam said Monday.
Speaking at a seminar here, Kariyawasam said Sri Lanka was looking to jointly promote tourism between his country and Goa.
‘Sri Lanka has re-emerged and is now able to reach out to the world and the world is reaching out to us. We are keen to revive our links with the Indian States with which we have had links in the past,’ he said.
‘Goa, which holds similarities and historic connections (with Sri Lanka), is naturally a priority for us,’ Kariyawasam said.
‘Joint promotion of Goa and Sri Lanka as tourism destinations is surely a win-win proposition for both (sides),’ he said.
