Shimla, Jan 16 (Inditop.com) Sunny weather across Himachal Pradesh helped the temperature rise to a pleasant 16.9 degrees Celsius Saturday in state capital Shimla.

“Shimla recorded a high of 16.9 degrees Celsius Saturday, a noticeable rise of 3.8 degrees from Friday’s. It recorded a low of 8 degrees Celsius, a rise of 3.5 degrees from Friday’s,” Manmohan Singh, the director of the meteorological office here, told Inditop.

He said Shimla’s minimum temperature was six degrees above average for this time of the year.

Keylong in Lahaul and Spiti district and Kalpa in Kinnaur saw a low of minus 11.9 and minus 4.8 degrees Celsius respectively.

Kalpa recorded the day temperature at 6.2 degrees Celsius, a rise of 2 degrees from Friday’s.

Likewise, Sundernagar in Mandi district recorded the day temperature at 25.2 degrees Celsius, Bhuntar in Kullu district 18.7 degrees and Dharamsala in Kangra district 18.2 degrees Celsius. These towns Friday saw a maximum of 19, 16.8 and 18.4 degrees Celsius, respectively.

However, the Met Department has forecast rain and snow in the state in the next 24 hours.
