New Delhi, July 10 (Inditop.com) After the US and Asia, the next mini Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD), a conclave of the Indian diaspora, will be held in September in the Netherlands, in Europe.
The Hague in the Netherlands will be the venue for the third mini PBD Sep 19. The previous editions had been held in New York and Singapore.
A statement by the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs said the convention will help in enhancing Indo-European dialogue in the fields of economy and culture. It will also introduce the Indian diaspora to the trade and investment opportunities in the land of their ancestors.
The event will be attended by senior officials and politicians from India and the Netherlands.
The Netherlands hosts a large Indian community, with the majority of them being Surinamese of Indian origin. Surinam in South America had been a former Dutch colony and was home to a large number of Indian indentured labourers in the colonial era.
The one-day function will be jointly organised by the municipality of The Hague, the Indian embassy, and local Indian and Surinamese associations.
