Ahmedabad, Sep 24 (IANS) At least three people hailing from Gujarat’s Saurashtra region were killed in the terror attack at a mall in the Kenyan capital, an official said Tuesday.
“Three people from the Saurashtra region were killed in the terror strike in Kenya,” Rajkot Mayor Raxaben Boliya told IANS.
She said that Malti and Jyoti Vaya, who are sisters-in-law, from Rajkot were killed when heavily armed terrorists stormed Westgate mall in Nairobi Saturday.
“We are deeply saddened…,” she said.
Boliya also said that 16-year-old Neha, granddaughter of N. Mashroo, who hails from Jamnagar was also killed in the terror strike.
Sridhar Natarajan, 40, from Tamil Nadu, and Paramshu Jain, eight, the son of a Bank of Baroda’s Nairobi branch manager, were initially identified as those who were killed. On Tuesday, another Indian, Sudharshan B. Nagaraj from Bangalore, was identified as among the dead.
Six Indians, including three from Gujarat, are now among the nearly 70 people killed in the terror siege that dragged into the fourth day Tuesday.
