New Delhi, July 30 (IANS) Three people were arrested Saturday for thrashing a 28-year-old man to death in a road rage incident, police said.
Anshu Tyagi 21, Lucky Tyagi, 22, and Somnath, 31, all residents of Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, were arrested for killing Tarun, a resident of New Ashok Nagar, a police officer said.
Tarun, who was returning home after seeing his father at Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, was brutally stoned to death on Loni Road in east Delhi around 11.30 p.m. Friday.
Police said Tarun was on his way home when his bike brushed past Anshu Tyagi near the Shyam Lal College.
Anshu abused Tarun, following which an argument ensued between the two.
‘Anshu, along with Lucky and Somnath, started beating Tarun. One of them then picked up a stone and hit Tarun repeatedly on his head. The three then fled, leaving Tarun lying in a pool of blood,’ said the officer.
An eyewitness called the police, after which a PCR van rushed Tarun to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
‘We arrested Anshu last (Friday) night itself, while Lucky and Somnath were arrested in the early hours of Saturday,’ said the officer, adding that the accused were drunk at the time of the incident.
