Jaipur, Sep 25 ( IANS ) : A three-year-old girl was admitted in a hospital in critical condition in this Rajasthan capital Wednesday after she was abducted and raped by an unknown man, police said.
According to the police, the incident occurred at Dabla village in Sikar district, some 120 km from Jaipur.
“The girl had gone to get water from a public water cooler near her house late on yesterday (Tuesday) when an unidentified man kidnapped her and took her to an isolated area. He raped her there leaving her seriously injured,” police inspector Sohan Lal told IANS.
The officer said that the man dumped the girl near railway tracks in the area and escaped.
“The girl somehow reached her house while profusely bleeding. She narrated the incident to her family members. She was admitted in a local hospital in Sikar, but due to her critical condition, she was referred to JK Lone Hospital in Jaipur today (Wednesday),” said the officer.
A team of doctors operated upon the girl Wednesday.
“The doctors say that her condition is stable, but still serious. Her intestines were damaged,” the officer said.
“We have some clues about the man who raped the girl. We are trying to trace him,” he added.
