Kolkata, March 30 (IANS) Train movement in West Bengal was thrown haywire after some wagons of a goods train derailed in the state’s Birbhum district Friday, the railways said.
Several express trains were diverted while the Varanasi-bound 13133-Up Sealdah-Varanasi Express was cancelled, the Eastern Railway said in a media statement here.
“Due to derailment of some empty wagons of a goods train between Bansloi Bridge and Rajgram stations on Rampurhat-Barharwa Section of Eastern Railway, both up and down lines have temporarily been blocked. The accident occurred at 4.20 p.m.,” said the statement.
There were no reports of any casualty or injury.
