Kolhapur (Maharashtra), July 1 (IANS) Two people were killed and one critically injured as members of two mafia gangs exchanged fire at a village 50 km from here Sunday, police said.
“Members of two gangs opened fire at one another over some land grab issue. Two people from the gangs were killed while one is critically injured,” an official from Kagal tehsil’s Murgud police station told IANS.
Those killed have been identified as Prakash Potekar and Ravindra Dongre. Police are looking into the firing incident and trying to identify the heads of the mafia gangs.
