Patna, Jan 2 (IANS) Two more accused have been arrested in connection with the gang-rape of a 12-year-old girl in a Bihar village last week, police said here Wednesday.

Deputy Inspector General (Patna circle) Sunil Kumar said Annu Kumar and Guddu Yadav have been arrested for their involvement in the rape of the minor.
Kumar said police had earlier arrested another accused Arjun Yadav from a village in Nalanda district. “Police have also seized an auto-rickshaw used in the incident,” he said.
The girl was gang-raped Dec 25 while she was on way to her grandparents’ house in Choti Kewai village from Sigriyavan village in Patna district.
But a first information report (FIR) was lodged only after the intervention of senior police officials.
The girl’s maternal uncle said police first refused to lodge an FIR, saying it was a case of harassment.
“We then complained to senior officials. After that, a case was registered,” he said.
Police had also recorded the girl’s statement in the presence of a judicial magistrate.
