Lucknow, March 1 (IANS) Thursday was a day of women bravehearts here, as a robbery and a snatching were foiled in two separate incidents by two courageous women who also helped in arresting the culprits, police said.

According to police, the first incident took place at Bazaarkhala when two motorcycle-borne robbers tried to rob Jyotsna when she was about to board an autorickshaw.
Under the pretext of asking her the way to the railway station they tried to dupe and snatch her ear-rings. She raised an alarm and resisted as they tried to flee, police said.
Police rushed to the spot and arrested both the criminals, hailing from Rajasthan, and recovered the gold ornaments. Drugs were also seized from them.
In the other incident, a teacher showed bravery in Wazirganj as two young men snatched her purse and tried to flee.
The woman chased the robbers and raised an alarm. The passersby overpowered the culprits and handed them over to the police.
