New Delhi, Nov 12 (Inditop.com) The Delhi High Court Thursday asked the state government as to why there was a delay in phasing out Blueline buses and getting new ones.
A division bench of Chief Justice Ajit Prakash Shah and Justice S. Muralidhar asked counsel for the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) as to why there was so much delay in phasing out Blueline buses.
Counsel replied: “The manufacturer that was to provide new buses is not capable of giving the buses at a faster rate, as every part of the bus undergoes a series of tests, which takes a lot of time.”
The court also asked why global positioning system (GPS) was not installed in the buses till date despite the court’s earlier directions. “Why is there so much delay? Is human life more important than money?”
The court was hearing a case relating to private Blueline buses that have killed a large number of people in accidents on Delhi roads.
