New Delhi, Feb 29 (IANS) A 40-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man from Uganda were arrested for drug trafficking in two incidents here, police said Wednesday. Drugs worth Rs.44 lakh have been recovered from them.

In the first incident, Asha was arrested from old Delhi Tuesday and 180 grams of drugs worth Rs.18 lakh were recovered from her.

In the second incident, Henry Lucky was arrested from west Delhi’s Dwarka area and 26 grams of cocaine worth Rs.26 lakh was seized from him. The drugs were concealed in his shoes.

“Asha’s son-in-law is involved in criminal activities in old Delhi area and after her husband passed away about seven years ago, she joined her son-in-law and became a drug trafficker,” said a police official.

Lucky came to India in June 2011 for exporting auto parts to Uganda. However, he met a local dealer and decided to supply cocaine in the capital because of the easy money.

Lucky was at present staying at Mahavir Enclave in south Delhi.
