New Delhi, May 30 (IANS) A 22-year-old youth was found murdered Monday morning, a few metres away from his newly-constructed house in east Delhi, police said.

Rajesh used to live with his parents at Prem Nagar in Karawal Nagar and their new house was nearby in the same area.

The incident came to light at around 6 a.m. after his father, Jawahar Singh went searching for him after not finding him at their new house where Rajesh used to sleep overnight. A search was carried out and he was found lying in a pool of blood nearby, police said.

The unconscious Rajesh was taken to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital where doctors declared him dead.

The body bore a bullet injury in the head, a senior police official said, adding that police suspected personal enmity.

‘It is hard to believe that Rajesh could be murdered with the intention of robbery as he had no cash or valuables. It seems that he was called from his house by unknown persons, supposedly whom he already knew, and they walked to the place where his body was found. There, he was allegedly shot at from point blank range,’ the official said.

However, Rajesh’s parents say that he was a very amiable and cheerful youth and he had no enmity with anyone.

Rajesh, a tailor, is survived by his parents, three brothers and one sister.

No arrests have been made in the case yet.

‘Rajesh’s family members and friends are being questioned,’ the official added.
