Mumbai, May 3 (Inditop.com) Maharashtra Home Minister R.R. Patil Monday welcomed the guilty verdict for Pakistani terrorist Ajmal Amir Kasab and said the Mumbai terror attack had “shaken our pride”.

“The terror attack had shaken our pride and we had decided that we would not spare anybody. I welcome the judgement,” Patil told reporters.

Kasab was held guilty on all 86 counts, including murder and waging war against India. But two alleged Indian accomplises were acquitted.

Questioned about the acquittal of Indians Fahim Ansari and Sabauddin Ahmed, Patil said the duo got the “benefit of doubt” in the case.

“However, after the final judgement is received, the government will take appropriate steps in the matter,” Patil said.

Earlier, Special Public Prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam said he would recommend the state government to challenge the acquittal of Ansari and Ahmed since both were “notorious terrorists”.
