Islamabad, May 18 (DPA) A bomb attack in north-western Pakistan killed 12 people including three children and three policemen Tuesday, officials said.
The explosion targeted a police vehicle on the outskirts of Dera Ismail Khan in the Khyber-Pakthunkhwa province.
“We have received 12 dead bodies. Among them are three policemen, three children and a woman,” said Qibla Khan Mehsud, the head of the city’s main state-run hospital. He said some policemen were among the 10 injured.
An official at the town’s main police control room said senior officer Mohammad Iqbal and two of his guards died in the attack.
Police called it a roadside bomb, while the local civilian administration claimed the attack was carried out by an explosive laden car that hit the police vehicle.
