New Delhi, Feb 7 (Inditop.com) Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot Sunday said his government had inputs that some elements in Pakistan were trying to revive Sikh terrorism in India.
“Investigations by Rajasthan’s (Anti-Terrorist Squad) ATS have revealed that efforts are being made by cross-border anti-national elements to revive Sikh terrorism in the country,” Gehlot said in his address to the chief ministers’ conference on internal security here.
Gehlot asked the central government to deploy the paramilitary Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) for protection of the Muslim shrine in Ajmer.
He said the state has deployed its own forces at the shrine. “However, in view of the large number of pilgrims (visiting the shrine) and a terror attack on the shrine in 2007, entrusting its security to special agency like the CISF needs to be considered,” he said.
A proposal regarding this, Gehlot said, was already with the home ministry.
He also urged the central government to consider Jaipur for a mega city police project.
