New Delhi, Feb 26 (Inditop.com) A day after talks with his Indian counterpart Nirupama Rao, Pakistan Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir Friday called on External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna and discussed bilateral issues.
Bashir met Krishna for nearly an hour, his last engagement in New Delhi before heading back to Islamabad.
They discussed key points relating to India’s concerns over terrorism that dominated the talks between the foreign secretaries of the two countries Thursday, official sources said here.
Krishna stressed on the need to rebuild trust and confidence that could create the right atmosphere for resuming the dialogue process, they added.
In their first structured dialogue here Thursday since the November 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, the two countries discussed a host of issues, including terrorism and Kashmir, but the stalemate persisted. Rao gave Bashir three fresh dossiers linking elements in that country with various terror attacks in India.
She also made it clear that the time was “not yet ripe” for resuming composite dialogue till a climate of trust was created over its “core concern” over terror. The talks ended with both sides promising to stay in touch, but no schedule for future talks was set.
