Islamabad, Feb 9 (Inditop.com) Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has decided to take parliament and the national political leadership on board on the proposed foreign secretary-level talks with India, a media report Tuesday said.

Quoting sources in the Prime Minister House, Online news agency reported that Gilani would also deliver a policy statement during the ongoing session of the National Assembly, the lower house of parliament, on Pakistan’s stance on the talks.

He had decided to take the Pakistani leadership into confidence even before the Indian proposal was received, the sources added.

Gilani would either invite the political leadership to his official residence or speak to them on the telephone, the sources said.

India has suggested two dates – Feb 18 or Feb 25 – for the talks, to be held in New Delhi.

Pakistan’s High Commissioner to India Shahid Malik is currently in Islamabad to discuss the dates with the foreign office.

Malik had Friday met Indian Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao in New Delhi to discuss the modalities for the talks.
