Bhopal, Sep 30 (Inditop.com) Love it seems too needs a visa. A Pakistani man, who sneaked into India on a fake Nepali passport in search of his “wife”, has been arrested in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhindwara district, police said Wednesday. The girl and her family, however, denied having any relations with the man.
Mohammad Asghar Aii, 27, who has been identified as a native of Chheena village near Lahore in Pakistan, told the police after he was arrested Tuesday that he sneaked into India via Nepal in search of his “wife”, 22-year-old dancer Ratna Soni.
Ali claimed that he and Soni had fallen in love during a show in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia in April last year and got married in Nepal a month later.
He claimed that she took around Rs.1.25 lakh from him and came to India without informing him. He also said that she later asked him to come to India and take her with him.
The police, however, said that Ali’s real motive for sneaking into India is yet to be ascertained.
“Ali, who was living in a Chhindwara hotel by the name of Inzima, since Sep 23, was nabbed on a tip-off and is being interrogated for more details,” Assistant Superintendent of Police (Chhindawara) Amit Singh said.
“Ali was also thrashed by the organisers of the dance show in Chhindwara Sunday when he tried to get close to the stage to meet Soni but he managed to escape with minor bruises,” a police officer said.
The girl and her family have denied having any relationship with Ali. They said Ali was chasing and harassing her for the last few months.
The police have found a fake Nepali passport from him and sent a team to Delhi to investigate where he stayed for four days and how he managed to obtain an Indian SIM card.
