New Delhi, Feb 4 (Inditop.com) Amid infiltration attempts in the Jammu and Punjab regions due to heavy snowfall in Kashmir, central paramilitary Border Security Force (BSF) chief Raman Srivastava Thursday said they have increased personnel along these stretches of the India-Pakistan border.

“Incidents of infiltration attempts have been taking place on the Line of Control (LoC) and international border. We have alerted all our formations, we have maximised and optimised the deployments, brought in reinforcements, increased our presence on the borders and have also increased round-the-clock vigil,” Srivastava told reporters here.

“The Punjab and Jammu borders are very sensitive at this particular point of time. It is difficult to enter Kashmir now as the area is receiving snowfall. Hence the option (for militants) that remains is south Jammu and Punjab. Attempts in recent times have gone up,” he said on the sidelines of a function.

Srivastava said it is a matter of concern and they have taken up with their Pakistani counterparts.

“Militants have various launch pads on the other side and they try to infiltrate on almost daily basis,” he added.
