New Delhi, April 30 (Inditop.com) Delhi University (DU) faculty members were Friday bombarded with admission related queries on its web chat – a new facility started Friday to guide aspiring students. The varsity is also launching admission helplines on Monday.

S.K. Vij, dean of students’ welfare, said: “Today was the first day of DU’s online web chat on the courses of business studies, financial and investment analysis and business economics. More than 200 questions were asked by aspirants in an hour’s session with experts and teachers of the university.”

“The questions ranged from eligibility criteria to the entrance examination pattern and group discussion. The live chat is being displayed on the university’s website for reference,” he added.

The next web chat will be May 4 from 4 p.m to 5 p.m.

In addition, the varsity also announced the launch of its helplines Monday to provide information regarding admissions at the undergraduate level.

According to university officials, the helplines will be separate for the north and south campuses.

“The helplines will be functional Monday to Friday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Anyone can call and get their queries answered by either the faculty or trained senior students of the university,” an official said.

The helpline numbers for north campus are 011-27662507 and 27662508 and for the south are 011-24119832 and 24114634.

The Open Days will help aspiring students get an idea of the courses offered in different colleges, the expected cut off percentages for different courses and colleges, entrance tests and other issues.

The admission process in Delhi University, one of India’s largest universities, begins in June.
