London, April 27 (Inditop.com) A teacher in Britain screamed “die, die, die” as he mercilessly hit a 14-year-old student on the head with a dumbbell after the victim used an expletive, a court was told.

Fifty-year-old Peter Harvey lost his cool when when the teenager told him to “f*** off” during a science lesson, Daily Express reported Tuesday.

Harvey dragged the student out of the class and across a corridor. He then hit him on the head twice with the 3 kg weight.

The victim suffered a fractured skull and was left with loss of hearing in his right ear.

Stuart Rafferty, prosecutor, said Harvey shouted “die, die, die” as he assaulted the student. The attack was caught by a CCTV camera and by a pupil using a hidden camcorder in the classroom at the school in Mansfield, Notts.

The teacher had been off work for four months before the attack as he was suffering from stress and depression. He told a colleague that he feared he might “harm someone”, Nottingham Crown Court was told.

The CCTV footage shown to the jury showed how Harvey warned the 14-year-old victim to put down a wooden metre ruler “or he would regret it”.

Harvey, who teaches at All Saints’ Roman Catholic School, then caught the teenager and dragged him to a side room. He carried out the attack as the student looked “frightened and confused”.

“He (Harvey) grabbed a weight and hit him on the head constantly. He didn’t stop and blood was everywhere. Everyone was screaming and then two people went and got teachers. I ran off,” a 15-year-old girl was quoted as telling the police.
