Buenos Aires, March 30 (Inditop.com) The first Indian fashion show in Argentina was a huge hit with Indian designs and colours enthralling designers and importers alike and opening the doors to the high-end textile market in this country.

The fashion fiesta comprised two Indian fashion designers, Nachiket Barve and Anita Dongre, and two Argentines, Monica Socolovsky and Fabian Zita, according to the Indian embassy.

The show, held on March 24, was part of the week-long ‘Alta Moda Fashion Week’ held here during March 22-28. The Indian show was attended by over 1,000 people including importers and textile industry representatives.

Socolovsky, an ardent devotee of Sathya Sai Baba, is a popular designer in the country specialising in Indian designs for the last 30 years and is known through her “Satya Fashion” label.

A delegation of Argentinian designers will also be invited for fashion shows in India, which will help them get exposure to traditions, variety and colours of materials, embroideries and designs in the country, the statement said.
