Bhopal, July 29 (Inditop.com) A teacher accused of molesting tribal girl students of Class 3 and 5 was arrested Wednesday in Vidisha district of Madhya Pradesh, police said.
Sanjeev Sharma, posted in a school run under the Shiksha Guarantee Scheme in tribal-dominated Nupur Tapra village, had July 24 stripped girls in a closed room under the pretext of taking measurement for their school uniform.
Vidisha is the home district of the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
“The teacher had molested six girls of a school in Nupur Tapra while taking measurements of their uniforms July 24. On receiving information, villagers objected to this and the teacher apologised,” Sub-Divisional Officer Narendra Trivedi told IANS.
Sharma was expelled Tuesday after he was found guilty during preliminary inquiry and cases were registered against him for violations of the provisions of the the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and for molestation.
