New Delhi, Jan 11 (Inditop.com) The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) Monday announced that all its schools would shut from Tuesday till Jan 17 due to cold weather and dense fog conditions in the capital.
“All of MCD’s schools as well as aided schools will remain closed for students from Jan 12 to Jan 17 due to cold wave and foggy weather. The schools will reopen on Monday, Jan 18,” Mayor Kanwar Sain said in a statement.
Teachers will, however, attend school during the week, Prithvi Raj Sawhney, MCD education committee chairman said.
The cold wave continued in the capital Monday with the minimum temperature dipping to 6.5 degrees Celsius from 8 degrees Sunday. The maximum temperature dropped eight degrees below average Sunday to 12.6 degrees Celsius.
The Met department has predicted rain for Tuesday and a minimum temperature of 8 degrees Celsius.
