New Delhi, May 11 (Inditop.com) A Delhi school principal, who had so far insisted there was no negligence on their part in the death of student Shivam Soni in Mussoorie, Tuesday said they would cooperate with police and stand by the result of investigations.

“We are ready to cooperate with the police in any inquiry and we will stand by the conclusions of the investigations,” Anjali Sethi, principal of ITL school, in Dwarka, south west Delhi, told a TV channel, two days after the death of the Class 5 student.

On Sunday morning, Shivam’s body was found outside the hotel where he was staying along with 180 other children during a school trip to Mussoorie. Shivam appeared to have fallen off the balcony of his hotel room.

Shivam was a resident of Najafgarh. His parents have said the responsibility of the death lies “with the school as we left our child in their care”.

Parents of other children have insisted that “teachers should own up to the responsibility of taking care of the children under their supervision”.

But according to one of the teachers who had accompanied the students, they checked on all the students late Saturday night.

The students had left Delhi on May 8.

Mussoorie police are investigating the incident.
