Shimla, Sep 18 (Inditop.com) Bishop Cotton School (BCS), one of Asia’s oldest boarding schools, is set to celebrate its 150th jubilee here next month, school officials said Friday.

“A slew of events like special train ride from Kalka to Shimla for the alumni, release of a coffee-table book on the school and the release of a commemorative stamp will be organised from Oct 2 to 6,” school’s headmaster Roy Christopher Robinson told Inditop.

He said celebrations on completion of 150 years of its foundation were held here on July 28 this year. BCS was found by Bishop George Edward Lynch Cotton on July 28, 1859, for educating children of European and Anglo-Indian communities.

The school boasts of alumni like constitutional expert Fali S. Nariman, writer Ruskin Bond, golfer Jeev Milkha Singh, former Himachal Pradesh chief minister Virbhadra Singh and Tata group chairman Ratan Tata.
