Melbourne, Sep 6 (Inditop.com) Two Indian students have been arrested for sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl on a train here.
“The 17-year-old girl (from Gosford) boarded the train in Melbourne on Wednesday. About 3 a.m. (Thursday), the girl was woken up by two men restraining her in her seat.
“The girl was then allegedly sexually assaulted before she broke free and sought assistance from rail staff,” South Asia Times quoted a police media release as saying.
The men – aged 22 and 28 and in Australia on student visas – were arrested and taken to the police station for questioning before being charged with aggravated sexual assault.
The alleged victim received treatment at a hospital and has been offered counselling, the media release said.
