Patn June 3 (IANS) Bihar’s ruling JD-U on Wednesday asked Lalu Prasad’s RJD to accept Nitish Kumar as the chief ministerial candidate if it wanted an alliance in the coming assembly polls.

“JD-U’s alliance with RJD is possible only when they will accept Nitish Kumar as the chief ministerial candidate,” state Janata Dal-United (JD-U) president Vashisht Narain Singh told media here.
“If an alliance happens, it is good, but if it did not materialise, then also it is okay,” he said, throwing back the Rashtriya Janata Dal chief’s Monday statement back at him.
The Congress and NCP have already expressed support for Nitish Kumar as the chief ministerial candidate.
