Lucknow, Nov 12 (IANS) The BJP Tuesday charged the Akhilesh Yadav government with “giving safe passage” to people involved in scams in Uttar Pradesh during the regime of former chief minister Mayawati.

The Samajwadi Party government, which earlier spoke about bringing to justice scamsters of the Mayawati regime, has now connived with them, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak told IANS.
Pathak demanding that a detailed report of the Noida farmhouse scam, submitted by the Lokayukta to the state government, be made public.
“This is strange that despite clinching evidence, probe reports and other pointers towards large-scale corruption by the ministers of the BSP government, the state government is now choosing to look the other way,” Pathak said.
The Akhilesh Yadav government had assumed charge in March 2012.
The BJP leader also said the Samajwadi Party in its poll manifesto had promised it would form a commission to probe the scams and corruption of the Mayawati government.
He also accused the state government of going slow on other scams like the sugar mill scam, memorial scam, Lacfed scam and Noida land allotment scam.
