New Delhi, June 30 (IANS) Sarod maestro Amjad Ali Khan Monday lost his sarod, which he has been playing for the last 45 years, while travelling from London to New Delhi.
“I hope a miracle happens,” Amjad Ali Khan told a TV channel.
“My sarod was with me for 45 years,” he added.
The Padma Vibhushan recipient was travelling on British Airways and the international carrier has confirmed the incident.
“We are working round-the-clock to reunite customers with their bags. We are very sorry that this process is taking longer than anticipated and we fully understand the frustration this is causing,” British Airways said in a statement.
“Heathrow airport’s baggage system in Terminal five has experienced a number of problems since Thursday. This has resulted in fewer than expected bags being transported each day. The process of getting the delayed bags onto the next available flight has also been affected,” it added.
