New Delhi, April 15 (IANS) Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki Monday said his state will have a women-only police station in capital Itanagar and separate cells for women in all the districts.

“Although we are a very small state, the Arunachal (Pradesh) cabinet has approved opening of one women’s police station at Itanagar and women’s cells in all the districts,” Tuki said at a chief ministers’ conference on administrative reforms here.
A special drive was being undertaken to recruit 200 women police personnel for the first time in the state to man special cells in police stations specifically to deal with women-related crimes and offences.
On administrative reforms, he said: “There are certain areas where the home ministry may, in consultation with other agencies, need to make common guidelines so that every state can adopt the same.”
