New Delhi, April 9 (IANS) Around 71 percent polling was recorded in Arunachal Pradesh, while 82.5 percent of the electorate in Nagaland Wednesday cast their ballots in the Lok Sabha polls, the Election Commission said here.

“The final figures are yet to come since people were still in the queue to vote in the two parliamentary constituencies in Arunachal Pradesh,” an Election Commission official said.
In 2009, the state had recorded 68 percent voting.
Besides Arunachal Pradesh, polling took place in three other northeastern states – Meghalaya, Manipur and Nagaland.
Till 5 p.m., Meghalaya recorded 64 percent voting, which is expected to touch 66 percent, the poll panel said.
Nagaland witnessed 82.5 percent voting till 4 p.m., the panel said.
In Manipur, polling took place in one constituency, which, till 4 p.m. recorded a 70 percent voter turnout.
