Patn June 17 (IANS) Bihar Health Minister Ramdhani Singh on Wednesday alleged that wife of senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi used fake degree certificates to get a government college job.

Jessy George, the wife of former Bihar deputy chief minister Modi, is a professor in the government college. Singh alleges that she took up the job on the basis of fake documents.
The allegations were levelled a day after Singh’s daughter resigned from the post of Grade III librarian at a hospital following a probe demand by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) into irregularities in her appointment.
Singh also said he would make public the fake degree certificates of George. “I will soon reveal and provide it to media.”
“Modi’s wife case is with the state vigilance department, which has been probing into the lecturer scam of the late 90s,” Singh told media in Sasaram district, about 150 km from here.
Singh told IANS that he would expose the real face of Modi, who claims to be an honest person. “Modi’s wife had used fake degree to get job as lecturer, now she is a professor,” he said.
According to officials in the vigilance, George submitted a false degree certificate to get the job.”The probe into it has been delayed for over a decade.” She was appointed as lecturer when Modi was leader of the opposition in Bihar.
In 2002, then Vigilance Commission superintendent of police Ajay Kumar Varma, who was heading the investigations, wrote to commissioner U.Panjiar that he was on the verge of proving that George submitted a false certificate case (No. B.S. 24-2002) when he was removed.
George’s name had figured in the scam unearthed recently by the vigilance panel, which found irregularities in the appointments of several lecturers in University Grants Commission-recognised colleges. Her experience certificate from the Raja Rammohun Roy College of Education is alleged to be fake.
George’s certificate shows her experience in Raja Rammohun Roy Seminary from 1988 to 1992, whereas the institute was authorised to run B.Ed courses from 1987 to 1989, Varma’s letter said.
