Lucknow, Dec 31 (IANS) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Wednesday lashed out at Samajwadi Party (SP) supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav for saying he would not allow Uttar Pradesh to be won by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The SP chief said late Tuesday that the party will never allow the state to go in BJP’s kitty.
“Mulayam Singh Yadav is a seasoned and a grounded politician. Instead of using such arrogant language against the ruling party and its prime minister, he is better advised to give sermons to his chief minister son,” BJP state spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak told IANS.
He said the state was already with the BJP and Modi as they won 73 of 80 parliamentary seats in the Lok Sabha elections earlier this year.
“Prime Minister Modi is an MP from UP and the people of the state have already given him a thumbs up by sending such a large contingent of BJP MPs,” he added.
