New Delhi, July 3 (IANS) Former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Rajnath Singh has been asked by the party to focus on Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand in view of assembly polls in the two states next year.

‘Party president Nitin Gadkari has given the responsibility to Rajnath Singh to give special attention to Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand,’ a statement issued by the BJP said here.

Party leader Dharamendra Pradhan will assist Rajnath Singh till the assembly elections in Uttarakhand.

The statement said that party general secretary Jagat Prakash Nadda has been appointed election incharge of Punjab.

Party leader Harshvardhan has been made in charge of Haryana and Jagdish Mukhi of Jammu and Kashmir.
