Lucknow, April 22 (IANS) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Friday said it would organise a run in various parts of Uttar Pradesh from next week to make people aware of the ‘corrupt practices’ of the ruling Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).

‘The run, which is aimed at exposing the corrupt practices of the BSP government before the masses, would take place from April 25 to May 15,’ BJP spokesperson in the state Vijay Pathak told reporters.

‘Primarily, members of the BJP’s youth wing – Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha – would participate in the run that would be organised in prominent cities of Uttar Pradesh in a phased manner,’ he added.

BJP has accused Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati of presiding over 100 scams entailing Rs.254,000 crore (Rs.2.54 trillion).

‘We want that the people of Uttar Pradesh know the misdeeds of the state government… we have already released a booklet of 100 scams that have taken place under the regime of Mayawati,’ said Pathak.

‘While participating in the run, our young party workers and activists would draw the attention of the public towards the major scams pertaining to land acquisition, selling of sugar mills, irregularities in pension plans and other public welfare schemes,’ he added.
