New Delhi, March 1 (IANS) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will do “better than expected” in Uttar Pradesh and it will be in a position to form a government, party leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said Thursday.
“The election was fought on the issues of corruption and crime, and BJP is the only alternative,” Naqvi told IANS.
He said the the party had almost decided its chief ministerial candidate but will wait for the election outcome to make an announcement.
The results of elections to the 403-member Uttar Pradesh assembly will be declared March 6.
