Hyderabad, Feb 5 (IANS) Celebrations erupted in TRS camp on Friday as the party headed for a sweep in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Elections (GHMC).
A large number of workers of the ruling party began celebrations at the party headquarters Telangana Bhavan soon after the initial results and trends started emerging Friday evening.
They danced in gay abandon amid the beating of drums and sprinkled pink colour on each other. Others were seen bursting crackers and distributing sweets.
TRS cadre hailed the leadership of TRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his son K. Tarakarama Rao.
Tarakarama Rao, who is minister for panchayat raj and information technology, led the TRS campaign in the polls. He had even challenged the opposition that he would quit if the TRS failed to get 100 seats in 150-member body.
