New Delhi, Sep 3 (Inditop.com) The death of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy was a “tremendous loss”, a shocked Congress party said Thursday.

“It is a tremendous loss. He was a dynamic chief minister. A towering and successful leader … of the state and the Congress party,” party spokesperson Jayanti Natarajan said after the bodies of YSR and four others were found in Kurnool district where their helicopter crashed a day earlier in bad weather.

“He was very practical. He always wanted to achieve specific goals. He was a man on the move,” Natarajan added. “I am sure there is much more he could have achieved.”

She said party president Sonia Gandhi was in constant touch with YSR’s family.

Law Minister M. Veerappa Moily and Minister of State for Science and Technology Prithviraj Chavan, who had left for Hyderabad Wednesday evening, were keeping the party informed of the details.

The helicopter in which the chief minister, popularly known as YSR, and four others were travelling went missing at about 9.30 a.m. Wednesday. The wreckage of the helicopter was found Thursday morning on a hilltop in the Nallamalla forest.
