New Delhi/Hyderabad, May 30 (IANS) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy Thursday said the Congress party or the government would not yield to deadlines on Telangana issue and appealed to party leaders from the region to wait for the leadership’s decision.

He was reacting to the decision of two Congress MPs from Telangana and a senior leader to join Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS).
“The Congress is a democratic party. They have freedom to join whichever party they want,” he told reporters in New Delhi, when asked about the decision of MPs G. Vivek and Manda Jagannatham and senior leader K. Keshava Rao to join the TRS.
The leaders announced their decision in Hyderabad as their deadline for the central leadership to take a favourable decision on formation of Telangana state ended Thursday.
Terming Telangana a sensitive and delicate issue, the chief minister said the leadership was working seriously to find an early solution.
“The Congress high command is trying to find a solution which is acceptable not just to people of the state but also to the whole country because there are similar demands in other states. The people of two regions are thinking differently and hence the command is holding talks with all the concerned before taking a decision,” he added.
