Jhajjar (Haryana), Oct 11 (Inditop.com) Congress president Sonia Gandhi Sunday asked voters in Haryana not to fall prey to hollow promises being made by opposition parties.
“What have the INLD (Indian National Lok Dal) and BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) done for you? Have they given any big loan waiver to farmers? Have they done anything for women and Dalits? Don’t fall prey to their hollow and false promises,” Gandhi said, addressing the last big rally of the ruling Congress for the Oct 13 assembly poll in the state.
Wearing a red printed saree, whose one end she used to cover her head, Gandhi said that unlike other parties, the Congress believed in giving strength to the common people.
“The Congress stands for the farmers because agriculture is the foundation of this country. Unlike other parties, when the farmers suffer, the Congress cannot sit back,” she said.
“Don’t be taken in by the false assurances of these (opposition) parties. The Congress government has done development in Haryana. We have not discriminated against any region, unlike the BJP and INLD,” she added.
Earlier, Gandhi addressed a rally in Nuh town of the newly created district of Mewat.
This was the last big rally of the Congress in Haryana for the Oct 13 poll for the 90-member assembly.
