New Delhi, Nov 28 (Inditop.com) An exhibition featuring the work of two French photographers who captured the culture and diversity of India during the early 20th century Saturday marked the start of Bonjour India – the festival of France in India.
Part of the the Albert Kahn collection, the “Journey to India” exhibition at the National Gallery of Modern Art, which includes rare photographs of noble laureate Rabindranath Tagore and royalty of the then princely states of Kapurthala and Jammu and Kashmir, kicked off the festival during which 200 events will be held in 18 cities over a period of three months.
These events will be coordinated by the India’s culture ministry and the Culturesfrance.
The exhibition was jointly inaugurated by French Ambassador to India Jerome Bonnafont and Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.
Bonnafont said there is a permanence of India that has not changed and the fascination of the French towards India also remains the same.
