Bhopal, Feb 17 (Inditop.com) The Madhya Pradesh government has asked all government officials to put up details of their immovable property on the website of their respective departments by April 30 or else face disciplinary action, officials said Wednesday.
“The general administration department (GAD) has issued directive to all heads of departments, collectors and chief executive officers in this regard, asking them to display such details compulsorily on their respective website by April 30, 2010,” a GAD official told Inditop.
The directive says: “Each government servant who has been appointed in any service or on any post shall be compulsorily required to submit the details of his/her immovable property after a gap of specified period during his/her service.”
The order also states that if any government official fails to submit the returns of the immovable property by the given date, disciplinary action shall be taken against him.
However, it has been specified that class IV employees shall be exempted from furnishing such details.
The GAD order also states that it would be the responsibility of the head of the department that such details are compulsorily updated on the website.
The state’s Chief Information Commissioner P.P. Tiwari had Monday ordered to bring the assets of civil servants under the RTI ambit.
Soon after, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan declared that all ministers and legislators will table details of their asset in the state assembly session starting Feb 22.
