Shimla, Dec 11 (Inditop.com) Himachal Pradesh’s first eye bank would be established by March next year in Shimla’s Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital (IGMCH), Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal said Friday.

“The state’s first eye bank will be established by March 2010 at IGMCH in Shimla. Some of the modalities (regarding setting up of the eye bank) are yet to be worked out,” he told reporters at a function here.

He said IGMCH has tied up with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi in this regard.

“The IGMCH has tied up with the AIIMS to reach out to maximum users. In case we don’t have the requirement of an eye at a particular time, we will provide it to AIIMS,” he said.
