New Delhi, May 27 (IANS) A middle-aged woman working as a domestic help was burnt to death when a fire broke out at her employer’s house in south Delhi on Wednesday afternoon, a fire official said.

“Around 1 p.m., we got a call regarding the fire at a house in Green Park. We immediately rushed three fire tenders to the spot. We extinguished the fire but the woman later died of burn injuries,” the fire official said.
Police identified the maid as Mamta (50).
“Mamta was badly burnt in the fire. She was immediately taken to Safdarjang hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead,” police said.
“The fire broke out from household material, and its cause is being ascertained,” the fire official said.
