New Delhi, Aug 23 (Inditop.com) Jaswant Singh Sunday called on former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to “seek his blessings”, four days after his expulsion from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Singh refused to divulge details of the meeting with Vajpayee, who is away from active politics owing to health reasons.
“I met him to wish him on Ganesh Chaturthi and inquire about his health,” Singh said.
Asked if he discussed his expulsion with the former prime minister, Singh told reporters here that “he (Vajpayee) watches television, he is aware of everything”, and added there was no need to brief him.
“I just went there to seek his blessings,” Singh said.
Singh, who was minister for external affairs, defence and finance in the BJP-led governments, was sacked Wednesday for his book “Jinnah — India, Partition, Independence”, in which he has praised Mohammed Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan.
He was expelled on the charge that his views went against the core ideology of the party.
