New Delhi, Nov 30 (Inditop.com) The Rajya Sabha was adjourned twice Monday over a central government team being sent to study the law and order situation in West Bengal.
The trouble began immediately after the house met with Sitaram Yechury of the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M), which heads the government in West Bengal, objecting to the move saying it was violative of the constitution.
Minister of State in the Prime Minister Office Prithviraj Chavan said he would convey the feelings of the party to Home Minister P. Chidambaram and ask him to make a statement.
Not satisfied with the reply, Left parliamentarians advanced towards Chairman Hamid Ansari’s podium, forcing him to adjourn the house for 15 minutes.
The disruptions continued after the house assembled, and it was adjourned again till 12 noon.
